For a dynamic mix of vocal talent and charm, look to Il Quinto – a South African male music group, whose music will have you serenaded and mesmerised all in one go.
When you see Il Quinto perform you can’t help but acknowledge the fact that the South African music industry has truly evolved. Il Quinto epitomises today’s afropolitan youth with its diverse cultural element… And a rather handsome group of guys.
Il Quinto’s dynamic mix of vocal power is part classical, part Pop crossover and everything from Elvis Presley to Queen. They also showcase a large number of new compositions, written for them by international song writers. Achievements include recording in London with Britain’s Got Talent winner, Paul Potts, a project which will be included on their new album.
However, the highlight of their career has got to be when they co-recorded Facing a Miracle, the official anthem of the Gay Games VIII - to be held in Cologne, Germany – with one of America’s finest female vocalists, Taylor Dayne. Their ‘Electro Groove African’ version of the song came up tops compared to others’, with African percussions, choirs and exclusive ‘SoulFactory’ club remixes. The collaboration between Taylor Dayne’s gorgeous lead vocals and the haunting African chants, driving rhythms and catchy African vocals of Il Quinto will leave you mesmerised.
These five have paid their dues and worked hard and the result is tours across Singapore and Iran later this year, as well as having booked 20 shows in Sweden for December. Il Quinto have certainly earned their stripes – both locally and abroad.
